To configure FTP client parameters, use <strong>the</strong> following commands in <strong>the</strong> CONFIGURATION mode:<br />

To view FTP configuration, use <strong>the</strong> show running-config ftp command (Figure 31) in <strong>the</strong> EXEC privilege<br />

mode.<br />

Diagnostics<br />

When you enable <strong>the</strong> diag command, <strong>the</strong> sequence of actions is:<br />

1. you must confirm that you want to run diagnostics on a line card, RPM, or SFM.<br />

2. <strong>the</strong> <strong>FTOS</strong> stops network traffic on <strong>the</strong> card.<br />

3. <strong>the</strong> <strong>FTOS</strong> downloads <strong>the</strong> diagnostics, and diagnostics begin.<br />

You cannot enable <strong>the</strong> diag command on a nonredundant RPM. If <strong>the</strong>re is only one RPM in <strong>the</strong> E-<strong>Series</strong><br />

system, you must take <strong>the</strong> RPM offline and <strong>the</strong>n configure <strong>the</strong> diag command.<br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> Task List <strong>for</strong> Diagnostics<br />

The following list includes <strong>the</strong> configuration tasks <strong>for</strong> diagnostics:<br />

• enable diagnostics on an RPM on page 80 (optional)<br />

CONFIGURATION Enter <strong>the</strong> following keywords and slot/port or number<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation:<br />

• For a Gigabit E<strong>the</strong>rnet interface, enter <strong>the</strong> keyword<br />

GigabitE<strong>the</strong>rnet followed by <strong>the</strong> slot/port<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• For a loopback interface, enter <strong>the</strong> keyword<br />

loopback followed by a number between 0 and<br />

16383.<br />

• For a port channel interface, enter <strong>the</strong> keyword<br />

port-channel followed by a number from 1 to 255<br />

<strong>for</strong> TeraScale, 1 to 32 <strong>for</strong> E<strong>the</strong>rScale.<br />

• For a SONET interface, enter <strong>the</strong> keyword sonet<br />

followed by <strong>the</strong> slot/port in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• For a 10-Gigabit E<strong>the</strong>rnet interface, enter <strong>the</strong><br />

keyword TenGigabitE<strong>the</strong>rnet followed by <strong>the</strong> slot/<br />

port in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• For a VLAN interface, enter <strong>the</strong> keyword vlan<br />

followed by a number from 1 to 4094.<br />

ip ftp password password CONFIGURATION Configure a password.<br />

ip ftp username name CONFIGURATION Enter username to use on FTP client.<br />
