The Multicast Features in this chapter are supported only on plat<strong>for</strong>ms c e<br />

<strong>FTOS</strong> supports IP multicast and Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP), Protocol Independent<br />

Multicast—Sparse Mode (PIM-SM) and Dense Mode (PIM-DM) protocols. This chapter includes <strong>the</strong><br />

IP Multicast<br />

IP Multicast is supported only on plat<strong>for</strong>ms c e<br />

Prior to enabling <strong>the</strong> multicast protocols on an interface or configuring a static Rendezvous Point (RP), you<br />

must enable IP multicasting.<br />

Note: Multicast is not supported on secondary IP addresses.<br />

To enable IP multicast routing, use <strong>the</strong> following command in <strong>the</strong> CONFIGURATION mode:<br />

ip multicast-routing CONFIGURATION Enable multicast routing.<br />

Note: Egress L3 ACL is not applied to multicast data traffic if multicast routing is turned on.<br />
