Use <strong>the</strong> show config command in CONFIGURATION ROUTER OSPF mode to view <strong>the</strong> configuration.<br />

OSPF, by default, sends hello packets out to all physical interfaces assigned an IP address that are a subset<br />

of a network on which OSPF is enabled. Use <strong>the</strong> show ip ospf interface command (Figure 384) to view<br />

<strong>the</strong> interfaces currently active and <strong>the</strong> areas assigned to <strong>the</strong> interfaces.<br />

Loopback interfaces also assist in <strong>the</strong> OSPF process. OSPF will pick <strong>the</strong> highest interface address as <strong>the</strong><br />

router-id and a loopback interface address has a higher precedence than o<strong>the</strong>r interface addresses.<br />

Figure 385 gives an example of <strong>the</strong> show ip ospf interface command with a Loopback interface.<br />
