To view <strong>the</strong> SNMP configuration, use <strong>the</strong> show running-config snmp command (Figure 38) in <strong>the</strong> EXEC<br />

mode.<br />

To delete an SNMP host configuration, use <strong>the</strong> no snmp-server host ip-address traps command.<br />

To disable traps, use <strong>the</strong> no snmp-server enable traps [notification-type] [notification-option] command<br />

syntax.<br />

To specify an interface to transmit <strong>the</strong> SNMP traps, use <strong>the</strong> following command in <strong>the</strong> CONFIGURATION<br />

mode:<br />

CONFIGURATION Enable <strong>the</strong> generation of SNMP traps.<br />

Configure up to 16 traps.<br />

Configure <strong>the</strong> optional parameters to<br />

specify which types of traps are sent:<br />

• notification-type: Enter one of <strong>the</strong><br />

optional notification types (bgp,<br />

envmon, snmp).<br />

• notification-option: For <strong>the</strong> envmon<br />

notification-type, you can specify an<br />

additional option (fan, supply,<br />

temperature). For <strong>the</strong> snmp notification<br />

type, you can specify an additional<br />

option (au<strong>the</strong>ntication, coldstart,<br />

linkdown, linkup).<br />

The notification options <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> snmp<br />

notification-type comply with <strong>the</strong> “generic<br />

traps” defined in RFC 1157.<br />

If you enter snmp-server enable traps, all<br />

traps are sent.<br />

snmp-server trap-source interface CONFIGURATION Enter <strong>the</strong> following keywords and slot/port or<br />

number in<strong>for</strong>mation:<br />

• For a 1-Gigabit E<strong>the</strong>rnet interface, enter <strong>the</strong><br />

keyword GigabitE<strong>the</strong>rnet followed by <strong>the</strong> slot/<br />

port in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• For a loopback interface, enter <strong>the</strong> keyword<br />

loopback followed by a number between 0 and<br />

16383.<br />

• For a SONET interface, enter <strong>the</strong> keyword sonet<br />

followed by <strong>the</strong> slot/port in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

• For a 10-Gigabit E<strong>the</strong>rnet interface, enter <strong>the</strong><br />

keyword TenGigabitE<strong>the</strong>rnet followed by <strong>the</strong><br />

slot/port in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

To view <strong>the</strong> configuration, use <strong>the</strong> show running-config snmp command syntax (Figure 38) in <strong>the</strong> EXEC<br />

privilege mode.<br />
