Upgrading using <strong>the</strong> Currently Running <strong>FTOS</strong> Image<br />

To upgrade <strong>the</strong> boot code using <strong>the</strong> current <strong>FTOS</strong> image:<br />

Step Task Command Command Mode<br />

1 Upgrade <strong>the</strong> boot code using one of <strong>the</strong><br />

following keywords:<br />

• Upgrade <strong>the</strong> entire system (primary RPM<br />

and all line cards) using <strong>the</strong> keyword all.<br />

You must still complete <strong>the</strong> remainder of this<br />

procedure.<br />

• Upgrade a single line card using <strong>the</strong><br />

keyword linecard, or all line cards using <strong>the</strong><br />

keywords linecard all.<br />

• Upgrade <strong>the</strong> RPM using <strong>the</strong> keyword rpm.<br />

upgrade bootflash-image {all |<br />

linecard [all] | rpm} booted<br />

Warning: Do not reset or remove <strong>the</strong> component you are upgrading during <strong>the</strong> upgrade process. The<br />

upgrade process takes approximately 10 minutes.<br />

Note: Steps 2 - 4 are not required if you have only one RPM installed.<br />

2 Login to <strong>the</strong> standby RPM. telnet-peer-rpm EXEC Privilege<br />

3 Upgrade <strong>the</strong> boot code on <strong>the</strong> standby RPM.<br />

using <strong>the</strong> keyword rpm.<br />
