In <strong>the</strong> EXEC mode, <strong>the</strong> show interfaces switchport command displays only interfaces in Layer 2 mode<br />

and <strong>the</strong>ir relevant configuration in<strong>for</strong>mation. The show interfaces switchport command (Figure 175)<br />

displays <strong>the</strong> interface, whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> interface supports IEEE 802.1Q tagging or not, and <strong>the</strong> VLANs to<br />

which <strong>the</strong> interface belongs.<br />

Use <strong>the</strong> show ip interfaces brief command in <strong>the</strong> EXEC privilege mode to view which interfaces are in<br />

Layer 3 mode. In Figure , GigabitE<strong>the</strong>rnet 1/5 is in Layer 3 mode since it has an IP address assigned to it<br />

and its status is up.<br />
