When you power up <strong>the</strong> chassis, <strong>the</strong> system per<strong>for</strong>ms a power-on self-test (POST) during which Route<br />

Processor Modules (RPMs), switch fabric modules (SFMs), and line cards status LEDs blink green. The<br />

system <strong>the</strong>n loads <strong>FTOS</strong>; boot messages scroll up <strong>the</strong> terminal during this process. No user interaction is<br />

required if <strong>the</strong> boot process proceeds without interruption.<br />

When <strong>the</strong> boot process is complete, <strong>the</strong> RPM and line card status LEDs remain online (green), and <strong>the</strong><br />

console monitor displays <strong>the</strong> <strong>Force10</strong> banner and EXEC mode prompt, as shown in Figure 12.<br />
