The following command configures <strong>the</strong> priority of <strong>the</strong> interface:<br />

vlan-range priority value<br />

To change <strong>the</strong> port priority of an interface, use <strong>the</strong> following command in <strong>the</strong> INTERFACE mode, as<br />

Configuring an interface as an edge port<br />

The following command configures <strong>the</strong> priority of <strong>the</strong> interface:<br />

To configure a particular interface as an edge port, issue <strong>the</strong> following command after entering<br />

INTERFACE mode:<br />

Disabling PVST+<br />

(OPTIONAL) Enter <strong>the</strong> keyword priority followed <strong>the</strong><br />

Port priority value in increments of 16.<br />

Range: 0 to 240<br />

Default: 128<br />

spanning-tree rstp edge-port INTERFACE (OPTIONAL) Enter <strong>the</strong> keyword edge-port to<br />

configure <strong>the</strong> interface as a Rapid Spanning Tree edge<br />

port.<br />

<strong>Force10</strong>(conf-if-gi-1/1)#spanning-tree pvst edge-port<br />

To disable PVST+ globally in <strong>FTOS</strong>, simply issue <strong>the</strong> disable command in PVST+ CONFIGURATION<br />

mode. When PVST+ is disabled, <strong>the</strong> show spanning-tree pvst command does not return any output.<br />
