Use <strong>the</strong>se commands on one of <strong>the</strong> interfaces to enable OSPF routing.<br />

Step Command Syntax Command Mode Usage<br />

1 ip address ip-address mask CONFIG-INTERFACE Assign an IP address to an<br />

interface.<br />

Format: A.B.C.D/M<br />

Return to CONFIGURATION mode to enable <strong>the</strong> OSPF process. The OSPF Process ID is <strong>the</strong> identifying<br />

number assigned to <strong>the</strong> OSPF process, and <strong>the</strong> Router ID is <strong>the</strong> IP address associated with <strong>the</strong> OSPF<br />

process. .<br />

In CONFIGURATION ROUTER OSPF mode, assign <strong>the</strong> Router ID.<br />

Use <strong>the</strong> no router ospf process-id command syntax in <strong>the</strong> CONFIGURATION mode to disable OSPF.<br />

Use <strong>the</strong> clear ip ospf command syntax in EXEC Privilege mode to reset <strong>the</strong> OSPF process.<br />

Use <strong>the</strong> show ip ospf command in EXEC mode (Figure 382) to view <strong>the</strong> current OSPF status.<br />

If using a Loopback interface, refer to Loopback Interfaces on<br />

page 254 .<br />
