ntp trusted-key number CONFIGURATION Define a trusted key. Configure a<br />

number from 1 to 4294967295.<br />

The number must be <strong>the</strong> same as <strong>the</strong><br />

number used in <strong>the</strong> ntp<br />

au<strong>the</strong>ntication-key command.<br />

To view <strong>the</strong> NTP configuration, use <strong>the</strong> show running-config ntp command (Figure 30) in <strong>the</strong> EXEC<br />

privilege mode. Figure 30 shows an encrypted au<strong>the</strong>ntication key. All keys are encrypted.<br />

set <strong>the</strong> hardware clock with NTP<br />

You can configure <strong>FTOS</strong> to periodically set <strong>the</strong> system hardware clock from NTP.<br />

To set <strong>the</strong> system hardware clock from NTP, use <strong>the</strong> following command in <strong>the</strong> CONFIGURATION mode:<br />

ntp update-calendar CONFIGURATION Set <strong>FTOS</strong> to periodically update <strong>the</strong><br />

hardware clock from NTP.<br />

To view <strong>the</strong> NTP configuration, use <strong>the</strong> show running-config ntp command in <strong>the</strong> EXEC privilege mode.<br />

disable NTP on an interface<br />

By default, NTP is enabled on all active interfaces. If you disable NTP on an interface, <strong>FTOS</strong> drops any<br />

NTP packets sent to that interface.<br />

To disable NTP on an interface, use <strong>the</strong> following command in <strong>the</strong> INTERFACE mode:<br />

ntp disable INTERFACE Disable NTP on <strong>the</strong> interface.<br />

To re-enable NTP on an interface, enter no ntp disable.<br />
