Enabling LLDP<br />

LLDP is disabled by default. LLDP can be enabled and disabled globally or per interface. If LLDP is<br />

enabled globally, all up interfaces send periodic LLDPDUs. To enable LLDP:<br />

1 Enter Protocol LLDP mode. protocol lldp CONFIGURATION or INTERFACE<br />

2 Enable LLDP. no disable PROTOCOL LLDP<br />

Disabling and Undoing LLDP<br />

• Disable LLDP globally or <strong>for</strong> an interface using <strong>the</strong> command disable.<br />

• Undo an LLDP configuration by preceeding <strong>the</strong> relevant command with <strong>the</strong> keyword no.<br />

Advertising TLVs<br />

You can configure <strong>the</strong> system to advertise TLVs out of all interfaces or out of specific interfaces.<br />

• If you configure <strong>the</strong> system globally, all interfaces will send LLDPDUs with <strong>the</strong> specified TLVs.<br />

• If you configure an interface, only <strong>the</strong> interface will send LLDPDUs with <strong>the</strong> specified TLVs.<br />

If LLDP is configured both globally and at interface level, <strong>the</strong> interface level configuration overrides <strong>the</strong><br />

global configuration. To advertise TLVs:<br />

2 Advertise one or more TLVs. Include <strong>the</strong> keyword<br />

<strong>for</strong> each TLV you want to advertise.<br />

system-description<br />

• For 802.1 TLVs: port-protocol-vlan-id,<br />

port-vlan-id, vlan-name<br />

• For 802.3 TLVs: max-frame-size<br />

• For TIA-1057 TLVs:<br />

•guest-voice<br />

•guest-voice-signaling<br />

•location-identification<br />

•power-via-mdi<br />

•softphone-voice<br />

•streaming-video<br />

•video-conferencing<br />

•video-signaling<br />

•voice<br />

•voice-signaling<br />
