Configure Peer Groups<br />

To configure multiple BGP neighbors at one time, create and populate a BGP peer group. Ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

advantage of peer groups is that members of a peer groups inherit <strong>the</strong> configuration properties of <strong>the</strong> group<br />

and share same update policy.<br />

A maximum of 256 Peer Groups are allowed on <strong>the</strong> system.<br />

You create a peer group by assigning it a name, <strong>the</strong>n adding members to <strong>the</strong> peer group. Once a peer group<br />

is created, you can configure route policies <strong>for</strong> it. Refer to Filter BGP routes <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation on configuring<br />

route policies <strong>for</strong> a peer group.<br />

Note: Sample <strong>Configuration</strong>s <strong>for</strong> enabling Peer Groups are found at <strong>the</strong> end of this chapter.<br />

Use <strong>the</strong>se commands in <strong>the</strong> following sequence starting in <strong>the</strong> CONFIGURATION ROUTER BGP mode<br />

to create a peer group<br />
