Managing VLANs using SNMP Set in Q-Bridge MIB<br />

The Q-Bridge MIB Set allows you to use <strong>the</strong> SNMP Set feature to maintain VLANs on plat<strong>for</strong>m e .<br />

You can:<br />

• Assigning access and configuring Layer 2 ports on page 99<br />

• Add tagged ports using SNMP Set on page 101<br />

• Changing Administrative Status with SNMP Set on page 105<br />

To manage a VLAN using <strong>the</strong> VLAN Static table in <strong>the</strong> Q-Bridge MIB, use <strong>the</strong> following procedures.<br />

Assigning access and configuring Layer 2 ports<br />

Be<strong>for</strong>e using <strong>the</strong> SNMP Set to manage <strong>the</strong> <strong>FTOS</strong> VLANs, use <strong>the</strong> <strong>FTOS</strong> commands below to ensure all<br />

interfaces are switch port.<br />

Step Task<br />

1 Execute <strong>the</strong> <strong>FTOS</strong> command to assign read/write access from <strong>the</strong> global<br />

CONFIGURATION mode:<br />

<strong>Force10</strong>(conf)# snmp-server community public rw<br />

2 Set <strong>the</strong> port range <strong>for</strong> your Layer 2 ports:<br />

<strong>Force10</strong>(conf)# interface range gi 0/0 - 48<br />

3 Set <strong>the</strong> ports to Layer 2 ports:<br />

<strong>Force10</strong>(conf-if-gi-0/0- 48)# switchport<br />
