Upgrading the FPGA on a Line Card
You may upgrade line cards one at a time or all at once. Only the primary FPGA image can be upgraded;
an error message appears if the FPGA flash selection is set to B.
To upgrade the FPGA image on a line card:
Step Task Command Command Mode
1 Shut down all of the interfaces on the card. shutdown INTERFACE
2 Upgrade the FPGA image.
• If the currently running FTOS image
contains the required FPGA image, use the
keyword booted.
• If not specify another FTOS image file URL.
Figure 511 and Figure 512 show the output of an upgrade using the command upgrade fpga-image.
• Figure 511 shows a successful upgrade.
Available FPGA
images
• Figure 512 shows a failed upgrade because the flash selector is set to B.
upgrade fpga-image linecard EXEC Privilege
3 Power-cycle the line card. reset linecard power-cycle EXEC Privilege
Note: You must power-cycle the card so that it can upload the new FPGA image.
