Zuletzt
arbeitete Gonsalves mit interaktiven Video-Installationen
wie ›Medulla Intimata‹ - ein interaktiver über Biosensoren
gesteuerter digitaler Schmuck - eine Koproduktion
am Banff Centre. Mehrfach als Artist in Residence ausgezeichnet.
Ihre Arbeiten wurden auf internationalen
Festivals gezeigt.
The work explores how memory and emotions can affect our sense
of time and reality. The piece uses the voice of the artist's deceased
grandfather, recorded near to his death, as he discusses his fears of
life and fears of death. The piece documents my grandfather's death
and my nephews beginning of life. The image focuses on a never ending
seascape horizon. These visions are slowly decayed over time to
suggest another reality, leaving them barely discernable as
seascapes.
Over a decade Tina Gonsalves has been using the fluid and
malleable medium of video to explore complex emotional landscapes.
Most recently Gonsalves has been working with responsive video
installations, including ›Medulla Intimata‹ - a co-production at the
Banff Centre - on digital responsive jewellery using bio-sensors. She
has been awarded numerous Artist in Residence programs and her
works have been screened at many international festivals.
