Die letzten Tage von Marilyn Monroe im Mini-Hollywood-Stil erzählt. Es<br />
spielen neben Marilyn die Kennedybrüder und der Gangster Sam Giancana -<br />
alles nur mit vorhandenem Material aus alten Marilyn Monroe-Filmen, JFK-<br />
Dokumentationen und SF-Ausschnitten. Noch so ein Film, den der Künstler<br />
schon vor Jahren machen wollte, aufgebaut auf unauthorisierten Biografien,<br />
Gerüchten und Hörensagen, den er aber nicht fertigstellte, weil er Angst<br />
hatte zu versagen und glaubte, er brauche viel Geld. Ein Stummfilm mit<br />
Untertiteln, durch die verschiedenen live eingespielten und aufgenommenen<br />
Musikstücke absichtlich uminterpretiert. Der Soundtrack kommt von<br />
Thomas Shields.<br />
Brian MacDonald ist ein autodidaktischer Videokünstler, dessen Arbeit<br />
auf Dutzenden internationalen Film- und Medienkunst-Festivals gezeigt wurden.<br />
Seine drei Videoprojekte: Sex and Sadness, Memories of Earth und Murder<br />
and UFOs handeln von Isolation und dem Verlangen nach Gesellschaft.<br />
Zufälligerweise lebt er allein in Victoria, Britisch Kolumbien.<br />
The last days of Marilyn Monroe told in mini-Hollywood-epic style, starring Marilyn<br />
herself, along with the Kennedy brothers and mobster Sam Giancana - made entirely from<br />
found footage from Marilyn Monroe movies, JFK documentaries, and sci-fi flicks. Based<br />
on unauthorized biographies founded upon gossip and hearsay, it is yet another movie the<br />
artist tried to make years ago, but failed to complete out of fear of failure and thinking he<br />
needed lots of money. A silent movie with subtitles, intended to be reinterpreted with various<br />
live and recorded musical scores - this recorded soundtrack by Thomas Shields.<br />
Brian MacDonald is a self-taught video artist who's work has screened at dozens<br />
of film and media art festivals internationally. His three video projects: Sex and Sadness,<br />
Memories of Earth, and Murder and UFOs, are about isolation and the desire for companionship.<br />
Coincidentally, he lives alone in Victoria, British Columbia.<br />
