Die Teppiche waren ursprünglich Reproduktionen von Gärten: der Garten ist ein Teppich, auf dem die ganze Welt
ihre symbolische Vollkommenheit erreicht, und der Teppich ist so etwas wie ein im Raum mobiler Garten. (Michel
Foucault, Andere Räume)
In der Videoinstallation wird das Muster eines persischen Gartenteppichs in das Bewegtbild übertragen. So ersetzen
Aufnahmen von Fischen, Bäumen und Blumen die floralen und geometrischen Motive der abstrahierten Paradiesgartendarstellung.
Neben der Beschäftigung mit Räumlichkeit und der Fläche, stellt sich auch die Frage nach
dem Umgang mit Abbildungen und der Bedeutung des Ornaments in verschiedenen Kulturkreisen.

As for carpets, they were originally reproductions of gardens. The garden is a rug onto which the whole world comes to enact its symbolic
perfection, and the rug is a sort of garden that can move across space. (Michel Foucault, Of other spaces)
The videoinstallation transfers the pattern of a persian garden carpet into the moving image. Film sequences of fish, trees and flowers
replace the floral and geometrical images of the abstract depiction of a paradise garden. Apart from the preoccupation with the visualization
of space, the work questions aspects of representation and the significance of the ornament in different societies.
