In der Kombination von live Action, Stoptrickanimation und chemischen Entwicklungstechniken<br />
nutzt der Film eine obskure Kraft, die wie ein schwarzes Loch oder ein ungeheuer starker<br />
Elektromagnet eine weitreichende und unwiderstehliche Macht auf bestimmte Objekte und<br />
Materialien ausübt. Die endgültige Maschine ›The Harrachov Exchange‹ wird gesund und munter<br />
während des Festivals in der Kunsthalle Dominikanerkirche zugegen sein (siehe Ausstellung).<br />
Joost van Veen, * in Rotterdam, ist 16mm Filmemacher, Tonkünstler, Performer und Schauspieler.<br />
Er macht Installationen und leitet den Filmwerkplaats, eine Experimentalfilm Werkstatt.<br />
Sein Kurzfilm Interlude gewann einen Tiger Cub Award beim Rotterdam Film Festival 2005.<br />
Matt Hulse, * 1968 in Oxford (GB) schafft Arbeiten in den Bereichen Animation, Dokumentarfilm,<br />
Installation und Audio Kunst. Er kuratiert The Audible Picture Show und macht das Programm<br />
für das Edinburgher Deaf Focus Film Festival. Außerdem ist er DJ und Teilzeit-Dozent am<br />
Edinburgh College of Art. Zur Zeit beteiligt er sich an einem gemeinsamen Projekt mit dem Filmwerkplaats<br />
Rotterdam.<br />
Combining live action, stop-frame animation and chemical processing techniques, the film explores the working<br />
of an arcane power which, like a black hole or immensely powerful electromagnet, exerts a far-reaching and irresistible<br />
force upon certain objects and materials. The final machine ›The Harrachov Exchange‹ can be found alive<br />
and kicking during the festival in the Kunsthalle Dominikanerkirche (see exhibition section).<br />
Joost van Veen, * in Rotterdam, is a 16mm film maker, sound artist, performer and actor. He makes<br />
installations and leads the Filmwerkplaats, an experimental film workshop. He won a Tiger Cub Award at the<br />
Rotterdam Film Festival 2005 for his short film Interlude.<br />
Matt Hulse, *1968, in Oxford, UK, creates works of animation, documentary, installation and audio art.<br />
He curates The Audible Picture Show and programmes Edinburgh's Deaf Focus Film Festival. He is also a DJ and a<br />
part-time lecturer at the Edinburgh College of Art. Currently, he is involved in a collaborative project with Rotterdam's<br />
Filmwerkplaats.<br />
