›Loud & Clear‹ is an interdisciplinary video project established as an unusual symbiosis of their work by a total of fourteen groups,
each consisting of an artist, a composer and an advertising designer. The objective of Loud & Clear is to emphasise the dynamism between
image and music, between artists from various disciplines and between art and commerce. In collaboration with the Museum Ludwig
Cologne and the Bifrons Foundation, a project was created that not only makes a contribution to the debate on the mutual dependence of
art, advertising and music, but which also raises questions regarding their differences. At the start of the project the video artists and
composers first had to clarify their musical preferences. Based on this, musicians from Amsterdam, Reykjavik, Zurich, New York, and
now Budapest and Berlin, were then able to commence with compositions that were exclusively created for this project. In parallel, and
initially with merely a vague idea of the later background music, the work of the video artists began. The advertising designers subsequently
produced a visual reference to or interpretation of the original video, which was usually given the same background music. The
lack of commercialism in this project guaranteed them artistic freedom beyond design for a specific purpose. The Bifrons Foundation
made it its objective to unite the two individual disciplines of contemporary music and visual art. The art foundation, which is based in
Amsterdam, brings together international artists and organises interdisciplinary projects in a constantly changing context. Two related
video projects, FLASH and Loud & Clear, have already been realised. Two nine-part DVD series have been released within these projects.
