Igor Leschenko, der junge Physiker aus Hermannstadt,
der mit bizarren Experimenten das Gesetz der Schwerkraft
ins Wanken bringt. Das Debakel am Kongress der
Pataphysiker führt zu einer geheimen Expedition zum
Antigravitätspunkt. Rare Filmdokumente einer Reise
jenseits von Zentropa durch den bedrohlichen Karfunkel
Archipel. Wird er die Insel Nanopol je finden?

Kunst an der School of Visual Arts in New York, Filmkurse
an der New York University. Ausstellungen in der
Schweiz und im Ausland. Seit 1990 freier Designer und
Filmemacher.
He was in the headlines for a brief period in the late 1920s:
Igor Leschenko, the young physicist from Hermannstadt, whose
bizarre experiments cast doubt upon the law of gravity. The debacle
at the pataphysicist convention leads to a secret expedition to
the point of zero gravity. Rare film documentation of a hazardous
journey beyond Zentropa through the Karfunkel archipelago. Will
he ever find the Nanopol island?

Die Produktionsumstände von ›haiku‹ sprechen für
sich: Zero Budget, dafür absolut freie Hand. Das Video
besteht zu einem guten Teil aus Public Domain Footage,
re-arrangiert und montiert im Takt zum Musikstück
›haiku‹ des Musikerkollektivs 78plus. Das Arbeiten mit
historischen Samples spiegelt sich sowohl im Sound als
auch im Bild wider. Es geht um die Kombination, Neuinterpretierung
und Adaptierung in einem sich verändernden
Kontext. Leben eben.

2003 Studium Politikwissenschaften, Internationale Entwicklung
und Ethnologie an der Universität Wien. 1999-
2005 Studium Konzeptuelle Kunst an der Akademie der
Bildenden Künste, Wien bei Prof. Renée Green und Prof.
Marina Grzinic. Festival- und Ausstellungsteilnahmen.
The production circumstances of ›haiku‹ speak for themselves:
zero budget but therefore completely free hand. Most of the video
consists of public domain footage, rearranged and edited to the
rhythm of the piece ›haiku‹ by the musicians' collective 78plus.
Working with historic samples is reflected not only in the sound
but also in the image. It revolves around combination, new interpretation
and adaptation within a changing context. In other
words, around life.
Harald Scherz, *1978 in Salzburg, Austria. 1997-2003
studied Politics, International Development and Ethnology at the
Universität Wien. 1999-2005 studied Conceptual Art at the
Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Vienne under Prof. Renée Green
and Prof. Marina Grzinic. Participation in festivals and exhibitions.
