INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FORUM
DVD LANDSCHAFFEN
In der Wortschöpfung steckt
Schaffen und Landschaften. Eine
produktive Verbindung aus beiden
Komponenten prägt die Filme, die
im Rahmen eines Projektseminars
unter der Leitung von Prof. Maria
Vedder und Anja Osswald im Sommer
2005 entstanden sind. Im
Rekurs auf die Idee des englischen
Landschaftsgartens als ›inszenierte
Natur‹ machen die Filmbeiträge auf
der DVD Landschaft als poetischen,
minimalistischen, visionären, theatralischen,
utopischen und sozial
geprägten Raum erfahrbar. Neben
der Arbeit ›Der mobile Garten‹ von
Ariane Pauls, die auch in der StudentForum
Ausstellung vertreten ist,
werden folgende Arbeiten präsentiert:
The neologism in the title is made up of
two words: Schaffen (creation) and Landschaften
(landscapes). A productive combination
of both components characterises
the films that were created within a project
seminar led by Maria Vedder and Anja
Osswald in summer 2005. In an appeal to
the idea of the English landscape garden as
›staged nature‹, the film contributions on
the DVD enable landscape to be experienced
as a poetic, minimalist, visionary, theatrical,
utopian and socially characterised
space. In addition to ›Der mobile Garten‹
by Ariane Pauls who is taking part in the
StudentForum´s exhibition the following
works will be presented:

Dämmerung. Nebel. Grün-blaue
Schattenreiche zwischen Tag und
Nacht, Alltag und Traum. Ein fahrender
Zug unterstreicht den transitorischen
Charakter des Parks: ein
aus der Zeit gefallener Nicht-Ort.
›Ein Raum, in dem es Bewegung,
aber kein Ankommen gibt, in dem
das Bewusstsein weder schläft noch
wacht und die Dinge ihr eigenes
Leben zu führen scheinen.‹ (Chan

Twilight. Mist. Greenish-blue worlds of
shadows between day and night, everyday
life and dreams. A moving train emphasises
the transitory character of the park: a
non-place fallen out of time. ›A space in
which there is movement but no arrival, in
which the consciousness is neither asleep
nor awake, and things seem to lead their
own life.‹ (Chan Sook Choi)

JEDEN TAG HUNGER
Viola Göpel
Alltagsrituale. Zwei Frauen in
bunten Kittelschürzen füttern Tiere
im Park. Oder ist es ein und dieselbe
Frau? Der Loop vervielfacht die
Handlung und verlängert sie ins
Unendliche. In der Wiederholung
des Immergleichen wird die Bewegung
zum Ornament, das im Muster
der Kittelschürze sein bildliches
Pendant findet.
Everyday rituals. Two women dressed in
colourful aprons are feeding the animals in
the park. Or is it the very same woman?
The loop multiplies the action and extends
it to infinity. In the repetition of the same
thing the movement becomes an ornament
that finds its visual counterpart in the
pattern of the aprons.
