Flush cleaning using a semi-aqueous solutioncontaining a minimum of 60 percent by weight waterand having a VOC composite vapor pressure nogreater than 5 mm Hg at 20°C, or2. Hand wiping:2.1. Shall use a solvent with a volatile organiccompound (VOC) composite vapor pressure nogreater than 45 mm Hg at 20°C.2.2. Cleaning and surface activation by hand wipingprior to adhesive bonding or cleaning solvent usageassociated with research and development, qualitycontrol, and laboratory testing is exempt from 2.1above.Solvent used for hand wiping at the Wing Majors,Wing Body Join, and mid-section seal and paint toolpositions:I. Other than as specified in (2) and (3) below, shallhave a VOC composite vapor pressure no greater than45 mm J-Ig at 20°C.2. Solvent used for hand wiping inside fuel tanks andfuel cells shall have a VOC composite vapor pressureno greater than 72 mm Hg at 20°C.3. The following are exempted from the VOCcomposite vapor pressure requirements of (J) and (2)above:3.1. Cleaning and surface activation prior to adhesivebonding.3.2.
