Persons claimingany of the exemptions shall have the burden ofdemonstrating compliance:I) Application of architectural or maintenancecoatings to stationary structures.2) Aerospace coating operations subject to 40 CFRPart 63 Subpart GG, including all activities andmaterials listed in 40 CFR 63.741(1).3) Use of HVLP guns in celiain situations describedin Reg I: 9.16(b)(3)(A) through (E).4) Use of air brush spray equipment with 0.5 to 2.0CFM airflow and 2 fluid ounce or less cup capacity.5) Use of hand-held aerosol spray cans with 1 quartor less capacity.6) Indoor application of automotive undercoatingmaterials using organic solvents with flash points inexcess of 100F.For the flightline, buildings 40-21 - 40-26, and 40-31 -40-36, items that cannot be reasonably handled in anenclosed spray area are exempt from Regulation I,Section 9.1 10Unlawful to allow spray-coating inside a structure, orspray-coating of any motor vehicles or components,unless the spray-coating is conducted inside anenclosed spray area employing paint arresters orwater-wash curtains to control overspray.
