Ongoing Directorate Base System Support<br />
Systems at Level 3 was restructured<br />
to create a separate Directorate<br />

Air Force. The SAAF Logistic<br />
Strategic Plan is under revision and<br />
the Air Force unit’s structures are<br />
being reviewed for optimisation<br />
<strong>of</strong> resources. The DOD logistic<br />
realignment process has taken<br />
priority and may influence the future<br />
Air Force logistic restructuring.<br />
In process The South African Air Force<br />
Human Resource budget strength<br />
will increase from FY 2010/11,<br />
instead <strong>of</strong> decreasing. In support<br />
<strong>of</strong> Government’s initiative, the Air<br />
Force plans to recruit 650 Military<br />
Skills Development System members<br />
as part <strong>of</strong> the normal recruitment<br />
drive and 350 additional members as<br />
part <strong>of</strong> the Project 24 commitment.<br />

renegotiation is presently in process.<br />
The AMG contract is to be reviewed<br />
and a new User Requirement<br />
