DEISM Division has acquired a new vehicle to<br />
alleviate the transport problems within the Division.<br />

The <strong>Defence</strong> Enterprise Information<br />
Systems (DEIS) Regulatory Framework<br />
Solution Project, that will enable the<br />
DOD to track and trace governance,<br />
has now been activated. The track-and-<br />
trace will enable the DOD to align its<br />
DEIS governance with national and<br />
international regulatory requirements.<br />
The DEIS Regulatory Framework is<br />
to be used as part <strong>of</strong> an integrated<br />
initiation solution for the DOD<br />

Eight ICS policies were approved;<br />
Three ICS policies have initiated a<br />
review process; and<br />
Six newly registered ICS policies<br />
are in the completion process.<br />
The GITO participated fully in<br />
the GITO Council meetings and<br />
subcommittees, and reactivated the<br />
Standing Committee on Information<br />
Systems Security (SCISS), which is<br />
now fully functional and aims to<br />
promulgate the Government ISS Policy<br />
Framework.<br />
The Secretary for <strong>Defence</strong> is<br />
appointed as a permanent member <strong>of</strong><br />
the IFMS Steering Committee. Full<br />
participation in the NT Integrated<br />
Financial Management System<br />
(IFMS) p<strong>rogramme</strong> and establishment<br />
<strong>of</strong> a subcommittee (IRMS) in the<br />
<strong>Department</strong> which coordinates and<br />
oversees the smooth implementation<br />
<strong>of</strong> IFMS modules in the DOD.<br />
The business agreement between the<br />
<strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Defence</strong> and the State<br />
Information Technology Agency has<br />
been finalised and has been tabled for<br />
final approval.<br />

and March 2008, there has been high staff turnover<br />
in the Division, resulting in it being 58% staffed.<br />
The post <strong>of</strong> Assistant Director: ICS Strategic<br />
Direction has been interviewed and a candidate has<br />
been selected to start work by the end <strong>of</strong> May. The<br />
posts for the personal assistant to the GITO and the<br />
secretary for the DEISA have been advertised. The<br />
equity <strong>of</strong> the Division is in line with the targets set<br />
by the <strong>Department</strong>.<br />
