Section 5 DLP-6 <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong> <strong>System</strong> <strong>Manual</strong><br />

Perform the following steps in the order listed.<br />

1. Connect to the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong> using the ETHERNET interface.<br />

If you are not already connected to the unit’s ETHERNET port using Telnet client software, use the<br />

procedure in DLP-3, Setting IP Parameters for the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong>, to connect to the unit.<br />

2. Log in to the unit using the read-write password (see DLP-2, Logging in to the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong>, for details).<br />

3. Go to the SYSTEM UTILITY menu and select UPDATE FIRMWARE; press .<br />

4. Select MODULE SLOT and press .<br />

Select the appropriate module slot to update. The module slot for the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong> system controller is<br />

module slot 0.<br />

5. Go to the TRANSFER METHOD menu and select TFTP.<br />

6. Enter into TFTP SERVER IP ADDRESS, the IP address of the network TFTP server.<br />

7. Enter into TFTP SERVER FILENAME, the full path name and filename of the update file.<br />

8. From the RESTART SCHEDULE menu, select the time for the module to perform a restart after<br />

completing the update.<br />

RESTART IMMEDIATELY AFTER UPDATE restarts the system immediately after the update is complete.<br />

RESTART AT SPECIFIED DATE AND TIME allows you to select when the updated system will restart. If you<br />

select this option, a new field called RESTART DATE AND TIME displays below the current field. To use<br />

that option, enter the time in 24-hour format (such as 23:00:00 for 11:00 pm). Enter the date in<br />

mm-dd-yyyy format (for example, 06-30-2004).<br />

9. Select VIEW CURRENT UPDATE STATUS to verify the progress of the current firmware update or to<br />

identify any errors encountered during the download.<br />

Refer to the table on the following page for a detailed description of messages found in this field.<br />

10. Select BEGIN FIRMWARE UPDATE to start the update. Enter Y to confirm the transfer and to set up the<br />

module to receive the TFTP upload.<br />

During the TFTP upload, the following status messages display in CURRENT UPDATE STATUS to<br />

indicate the progress of the upload:<br />

CONTACTING SERVER Indicates communication with the TFTP network server is trying to be<br />

established with the specified server address in the TFTP SERVER IP<br />

ADDRESS field.<br />

BEGINNING TFTP Indicates communication with the TFTP network server has been<br />

TRANSFER<br />

established and the update file is being transferred between the <strong>ATLAS</strong><br />

<strong>550</strong> and the TFTP network server.<br />

COMPLETED Indicates the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong> successfully received the update file.<br />

ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND Indicates the TFTP network server was unable to locate the specified file<br />

name or path in the TFTP SERVER FILENAME field.<br />

ERROR: ACCESS Indicates the TFTP network server denied the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong> access to the<br />

VIOLATION<br />

given update filename and path. Please verify appropriate user rights are<br />

selected for the specified path.<br />
