DLP-15 Using the Alarm Connections and the ACO Button
Introduction
Alarm connections alert the user when a selected alarm condition exists. Pressing the Alarm Cut-Off
(ACO) switch on the front panel of the ATLAS 550 clears the alarm. This procedure details the steps which
must be performed to use the ATLAS 550 alarm connections and the ACO switch.
This procedure should be performed at installation on each ATLAS 550 shelf that is wired out to external
office alarm equipment.
Prerequisite Procedures
Before beginning this procedure, the ATLAS 550 should be mounted in its permanent location and the
alarm contacts should be connected (see DLP-14, Connecting the Alarm Contacts).
Tools and Materials Required
• VT100 terminal or PC with VT100 terminal emulation software
To prevent electrical shock, do not install equipment in a wet location or during a
lightning storm.
Electronic equipment can be damaged by static electrical discharge. Before handling it,
put on an antistatic discharge wrist strap to prevent damage to electronic components.
Place equipment in antistatic packing material when transporting or storing. When
working on equipment, always place it on an approved antistatic mat that is electrically
grounded.
