Specifies whether you use DIRECT or DIAL mode. DIRECT mode is used when connecting to a VT100<br />

terminal, and DIAL mode is used for modem access.<br />

SYSTEM CONFIG > CHAIN PORT > PORT SPEED<br />

Write security: 2; Read security: 5<br />

Specifies the baud rate of the port. Select either 2400, 9600, 19200, or 38400. If you are using DIAL for<br />

PORT TYPE, ensure that the PORT SPEED setting matches the modem baud rate.<br />

SYSTEM CONFIG > CHAIN PORT > MODEM INITIALIZATION STRING<br />

Write security: 2; Read security: 5<br />

Specifies the initialization string for the modem. Refer to your modem documentation for acceptable<br />

initialization strings. The default value will configure most modems to the appropriate configuration for<br />

the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong>.<br />

Write security: 4; Read security: 5<br />

Sends the modem initialization string to the modem. When you select this command, the following<br />

message displays: PLEASE VERIFY A MODEM IS CONNECTED TO THE CHAIN PORT BEFORE CONTINUING.<br />

CONFIRM (Y/N). Ensure that a modem is connected before selecting Y.<br />

SYSTEM CONFIG > ADMIN PORT > FLOW CONTROL<br />

This option sets the flow control for the ADMIN or CRAFT port. You may configure the ADMIN or CRAFT<br />

port flow control for NONE or HARDWARE.<br />

Provides a way to configure SNMP access for the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong>. The following options are available for<br />

review and editing:<br />

Defines whether SNMP access to the <strong>ATLAS</strong> <strong>550</strong> is ENABLED or DISABLED. Select the appropriate option<br />

for your application.<br />

SYSTEM CONFIG > SNMP > SNMP COMMUNITIES<br />

Write security: 3; Read security: 5<br />

Defines SNMP manager(s) characteristics as follows:<br />
