5) 사례 5
북아프리카의 한 도시에 네 쌍의 부부가 여러 명의 독신자들과 함께 사역
하고 있다. 부인들 사이의 긴장은 공개적인 비판을 쏟아놓기 일보직전에 이
른것 처럼 보인다. 미국에서 온 제인은 팀내 부인들을 위해 후원그룹을 조직
한 그녀의 노력이 수포로 돌아가자 실망감을 느낀다. 한국에서 온 혜숙은 조
용히 요리하고, 집안 청소를 하며, 남편을 섬기는 일에 만족하는 것처럼 보
인다. 아니면 그것은 그저 그렇게 보이는 것일 뿐일까? 그녀 둘은 외모와 훌
륭한 말솜씨로 현지인 여성들과 잘 어울리는 실비나에게 소외되는 느낌을
받는다. 반면에, 남아프리카 공화국에서 온 에스더는 도시에 갔을 때 받았던
어떤 부정적, 인종적 경험으로 모국에서의 경험을 상기하게 된다. 당신이라
