Deliberations on a definition and characteristics
of the accounting profession
Abstract. This articles aim is to present some terms showing the
accounting profession in the aspect of chosen definitions from the
range of job studies, pedagogy, ethics, and accounting. The accounting
profession is shown in the axiological, namely evaluative
dimension. One of the motivating premises clarifying this issue, is
presenting the profession of the high degree of authoritativeness
in the national and international scale. A person doing the job
connected with accounting and finances is commonly regarded
trustworthy, reliable, responsible, and prudent. Such traits are
particularly important nowadays, as all-human values are not
fully appreciated, although the society of XXI century possesses
the rich accumulated experience on the basis of daily practice and
developing scientific theories.
1. Przesłanki wyboru obszaru badawczego
Celem artykułu jest zogniskowanie pojęć definiujących „zawód księgowego”.
Przedstawiony cel może skłaniać do zastanowienia, dlaczego
właśnie ten obszar ludzkiej aktywności, jest przedmiotem zainteresowania
autora. Motywem, który decyduje o przesłankach realizacji postawionego
celu, jest oddanie szacunku i honoru osobom, które zajmują się
