Resolution of the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>City</strong>, N.J.<strong>City</strong> Clerk File No. Res. 09-717Agenda No. 10.0Approved: SEP 0 9 l009TITLE:RESOLUTION OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JERSEY CITYAUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE AND EXECUTION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTBLOCK GRANT - RECOVERY (CDBG-R) PROGRAM FUNDS AND AUTHORIZINGPROGRAM CONTRACTS UNDER THE CDBG-R PROGRAMCOUNCILfollowing resolution:offered and moved adoption of theWHEREAS, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, signed into lawon February 17, 2009, appropriated $1 Billon in Community Development Block Grant(CDBG) funds to states and local governments to carry out, on an expedited basis, eligibleactivities under the CDBG program; andWHEREAS, on June 5,2009 the <strong>City</strong> submitted a Substantial Amendment to allow for theapplication and use of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds; andWHEREAS, the <strong>City</strong>'s Substantial Amendment to our FY2008 Action Plan has beenapproved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the <strong>City</strong>has been authorized to receive $1,749,827 in CDBG-R Program funds; andWHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant-Recovery (CDBG-R) funds must be spentno later than September 30, 2012; andactivities:WHEREAS, the-activitiesproposed in the <strong>City</strong>'s Substantial Amendment'requires the use ofagencies and subgrantees; andWHEREAS, the <strong>City</strong> of <strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>City</strong> proposes to use CDBG-R funds for the following eligibleVENDOR / ACTIVITY NAME DESCRIPTION AMOUNT<strong>Jersey</strong> <strong>City</strong> Housing Authority -Glenview Townhouses ISite improvements for a 63-unit mixedincome rental housing project.
