Concise Description of the Program, Project or Plan Proposed in the Resolution:Amend the existing Professional Engineering Services Contract to hire Medina Consultants, P.C. to designand prepare Construction Plans and Specifications as well as perform Construction Inspection andManagement for the Newark Avenue Streetscape Improvements Phase I & 2 Project.Streetscape improvements for Phase 1 and 2 project shall consist of new charcoal gray concrete curb andsidewalk, handicapped curb ramps with detectable warning surface, reconstruction of basement and coalstorage vaults under the sidewalk as required, decorative street lights, millng and resurfacing of theroadway, new traffic striping and signs, polymer-resin imprinted crosswalks, planting of new trees in concreteplanters and traditional tree pits, decorative benches, and trash receptacles, repainting of two (2) streetclocks and four (4) banner poles and a new Willam Mercado Memorial Park.4~ Reasons (Need) the Proposed Program, Project, etc:Newark Avenue is currently in poor condition with deteriorating curbs, sidewalks, asphalt pavement, traffcstriping and a lack of traffic signs.Amending the PSA is necessary due to additional design work for William Mercado Memorial Park,additional streetscape details for the design ançl additional design and inspection work to reconstrUctbasements and coal storage vaults under the sidewalks.5.
