Resolution of the City of Jersey City, N.J.City Clerk File No.Agenda No.Approved:Res. 09-74310.Z.15SEP 0 9 2009TITLE:0 Ȯ/?pRESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF A CONTRACT WSERVICE CORPORATION TO PROVIDE FIRE AN SECURITY ALARMAINTENANCE FOR VARIOUS BUILDINGS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLICWORKSIBUILDING AND STREET MAINTENANCECOUNCILTHE FOLLOWlNG RESOLUTION:OFFERED AND MOVED ADOPTION OFWHEREAS, Resolution No. 07~546 approved on July 18,2007, awarded a one-year contract in theamount of $29, 100.00 to Haig's Service Corporation to provide Fire and Security Alarm Maintenance forvarious buildings owned by the City of Jersey City for Departent of Public WorkslDivision of Buildingand Street Maintenance; andWHEREAS, the bid specifications provided the City of Jersey City (City) with the option to renew thecontract for up to two additional one-year periods with the renewal contract being the preceding year'scontract price as adjusted according to the Federal Consumer Price Index published by the Bureau ofLabor Statistics in the months of June 2008 to June 2009; andWHEREAS, Resolution No. 08-556 approved on July 16,2008, exercised the first option with thecontract ending on June 30,2009 in the amount of$30,147.60.00; andWHEREAS, the contractor has been performing the services in an effective and effcient manner; andWHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:II-15, the City desires to exercise the final option and renew thecontrct for an additional one-year period effective as of July 0 i, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010; andWHEREAS, the total cost ofthe contrct renewal is $30,147.60; andWHEREAS, funds in the amount of $4,500.00 are available in Account No. 10-01-201-26-291'-311.NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Council ofthe City of Jersey City that:1) The Mayor or Business Administrator is authorized to renew the agreement with Haig'sService Corporation to provide Fire and Security Alar Maintenance for various buildingsowned by the City of Jersey City for Departent of Public WorkslDivision of Building andStreet Maintenance.2) The renewal contract is for a one-year period effective as July 01, 2009. The total cost of thecontract shall not exceed $30,147,60.3) Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:30-5.5(a), the continuation of the contrct after theexpenditue of fuds encumbered in the 2010 fiscal year temporar budget, shall besubject to the availability and appropriation of suffcient fuds in the 2010 fiscal yearpermanent budget.~. .11,4)~/~?The award of this contrct shall be subject to the condition that the vendor providessatisfactory evidence of compliance with the Affrmative Action Amendments to the LawAgainst Discrimination, N.J.S.A. 10-5-31 et seq.(Continued on Page 2)
