FOR THE DESIGN,PREPARTION OF CONSTRUCTION PLAS ANDSPECIFICATIONS AND CONSTRUCTION INSPECTIONAND MAAGEMENT FOR NEWARK AVENUESTREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 1 & 2 PROJECTNO. 06-023,FOR THE DEPARTMENT OFADMINISTRATION, DIVISION OF ENGINEERING,TRAFIC AND TRASPORTATION.COUNCIL AS A WHOLEFOLLOWING RESOLUTION:OFFERED AND MOVED ADOPTION OF THEWHEREAS, the Muncipal Counci of the City ofJ ersey City (City) at its Febru 13,2008 meetig didauthorie the award of a professional engieerig servces contract to Media Consultants, P.e. for thedesign, preparation of constrction plans and specications and constrction inspection and managementfor the Newark Avenue Streetscape Improvements Phase 1 & 2 Project No. 06-023 in the amount of$200,200.00 (Resolution No. 08-101); andWHEREAS, durthe desig process additional desig work was necessar for the Wilm MercadoMemori Park and additional streetscape deta to complete the design fora cost increase of$16,000.00;andWHEREAS, durg the constrction phase curendy in progress, due to unforeseen field conditions,additional desig work was necessar to prepare plas to reconstrct the numerous basements and coalstorage vaults which lie under the existig sidewal with the project lits; andWHEREAS, a Strctual Engieer from Medi Consultats (Media) was requied to desig theadditional basement and coal storage vault reconstrction work and inspect the actual constrction work;andWHEREAS, the additiona cost for ths b~ement and vault reconstrction desig and inspection workwi be biled on an hourly rate in accordace with the approved Professional Engeerig ServcesContract; andWHEREAS, it has become necessar to amend the exiti contract to include the additiona desig andinspection work; andWHEREAS, the additional amount to be encubered for th amendment shal not exceed fort twothousand doll and no cents ($42,000.00) brig the overal base amount to two hundred fort twothousand two hundred doll and no cents ($242,200.00); andWHREAS, fuds are avaible forth expenditue fromAccount No. 02-213-4-709-314 P.O. #L ~, i3/3 $42,000.00
