City Clerk File No.Agenda No.10.Z.23Approved: SEP 0 9 2009TITLE:°0 ~y~llORAT£' "'~RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING LIBERTY NATIONAL GOLF COURSE,HOST OF THE BARCLA YS PGA TOURNAMENTCOUNCIL AS A WHOLE, offered and moved adoption ofthe following resolution:WHEREAS, Liberty National Golf Course, designed by Hall ofFame golfer, Tom Kite and builtat a cost of over $250 milion dollars, was the host for The Barclays PGA tournament in Jersey Cityduring the week of August 24th; andWHEREAS, Libert National Golf Course, with its iconic vista of the Statue of Libert, theVerrazano - Narows Bridge and the New York Skyline, thrst Jersey City in the national spotlightduring a week of exciting play; andWHEREAS, The Barclays Tournament is a prestigious event that attracts the best golfers in thePGA Tour including Phil Michelson, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els and other top rated golfersfrom around the world; andWHEREAS, The Barclays Tournament was a major economic stimulus to the City of Jersey City,with local hotels filled to capacity with tour paricipants, offcials and spectators.
