FORTHE DESIGN AN PREPARTION OF CONSTRUCTION PLASAN SPECIFICATIONS FOR NEWAR AVENUE ROADWAYIMPROVEMENTS PHASE 3 PROJECT NO. 09-006, FOR THEDEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION, DIVSION OFENGINEERING, TRAFIC & TRASPORTATIONCOUNCIL AS A WHOLEFOllOWIG RESOLUTION:OFFERED AND MOVED ADOPTON OF THEWHEREAS, the Muncipal Council of the City of Jersey City (City) at its June 17, 2009 meetig didauthorie the award of a professiona engieerig servces contract to Media Consultants, P.c. (Media)for the desig and preparation of plans and specifcations for Newark Avenue Roadway ImprovementsPhase 3 Project No. 09-006 in the amount of $ 129,000.00 (Resolution No. 09-455); andWHEREAS, durg the desig process, additional desig work is necessar to make improvements tothe area suroundi the fie station located at Newark Avenue and Merseles Street as par of the NewarkAvenue Roadway Improvement Phase 3 project; andWHEREAS, Media has submitred a proposal dated July 28, 2009 to perform the additiona desigwork for a lump sum fee of $ 5,500.00;andWHREAS, dur the desig proce~s it is also necessar to locate underground basements andstorage vaults and underground .oil storag tank which may exit underneath City owned sidewal withthe lits of the project using radio frequency and magnetic location and ground penetrati rada; and 'coalWHEREAS, Medi has submitted a proposal dated July 31, 2009 to perform the additional subsuraceinvestition for a lump sum fee of $ 8,500.00; andWHERE, it has become necessar to amend the extig contract to include the additiona desig andsubsurface irvestition work; andWHEREAS, the additiona amount to be encubered for th amendment shal not exceed foureenthousand doUâs and no cents ($ 14,000.00) bri the over base contrct amount to one hundred fortthee thousand;dolls and no cents ($ 143,000.00); and .WHEREAS, fuds are avaible for th expenditue fromAcct: # 04-215-55-842-990 P.O. #L- ~71ll(1 $ 14,000.00
