2Installing a <strong>Brocade</strong> <strong>MLX</strong>e-32 router• A mechanical lift with a minimum 350 lb limit to move the router off the pallet. The ideal liftconfiguration is a counterweight base material lift with a metal lift plate installed in place ofthe forks. The metal plate should be no wider than 17 inches, so that it will fit between the rackmount rails.• A strap to stabilize the router while you are moving it on the mechanical lift.• A power drill with the following attachments:- Large Phillips screwdriver- Large flat-blade screwdriver- 7/16-inch socket wrenchThe <strong>Brocade</strong> <strong>MLX</strong>e-32 router ships in a wooden crate bolted to a wooden platform that rests on apallet. Follow these steps to uncrate the router.1. The router shipping crate must be in the upright position with enough space to slide the crateoff of the pallet.2. Use a power drill with Phillips <strong>and</strong> large flat-blade screwdriver attachments to remove the bolts<strong>and</strong> screws that hold the front shipping crate panel in place, as shown in Figure 78. Remove the remaining bolts <strong>and</strong> screws that attach the bottom of the crate to the pallet.4. Slide the sides, top, <strong>and</strong> back of the crate backwards as one unit until it clears the pallet.5.
