Installing a Brocade MLXe-4 router 2CAUTIONFor the NEBS-compliant installation of Brocade MLXe-32, routers with AC and DC systems, use aground wire of at least 2 American Wire Gauge (AWG). The ground wire should have anagency-approved crimped connector (provided with the device) attached to one end, with theother end attached to building ground. The connector must be crimped with the proper tool,allowing it to be connected to both ground screws on the enclosure. Before crimping the groundwire into the provided ground lug, ensure the bare copper wire has been cleaned and antioxidantis applied to the bare wire.CAUTIONTo ensure adequate bonding when attaching the ground lug, a minimum of 20 PSI of torque isrequired to be applied to the mounting hardware used to attach the ground lug.FIGURE 51Crimping the power supply wire in the lug11 AWG power supply wire:#8 AWG power supply wire for 1200W power supplies#6 AWG power supply wire for 1800W power supplies4. Connect the -48V cable to the negative terminal and the 0V cable to the positive terminal.NOTEDC return must be isolated from the router ground (DC-I) when connecting to DC powersupplies.5.
