3Installing a <strong>Brocade</strong> <strong>MLX</strong>-8 routerFollow these steps to mount a router in a rack.NOTEYou will need a Phillips screwdriver <strong>and</strong> four st<strong>and</strong>ard #12-24 pan-head screws (per router) to mountthe router in a rack.1. Determine the position of each router in the rack according to the weight of the router. Forexample, mount the router with the fewest modules near the top of the rack, the router withmore modules near the middle of the rack, <strong>and</strong> a fully populated router near the bottom of therack.2. Using the keyhole slots in the router mounting brackets as a guide, align one screw per rackpost, as shown in Figure 110. On one side of the rack, the screw should align with the top holein the mounting bracket. On the other side of the rack, the screw should align with the bottomhole of the mounting bracket. Mount the lowest router first. With two or more people lifting the router, slip the widest part ofeach keyhole slot on the mounting bracket over the corresponding mounting screw in the rackpost.
