4Installing a <strong>Brocade</strong> <strong>NetIron</strong> <strong>XMR</strong> 16000 routerConnecting AC powerAC power is supplied through a power cord connected to the power supply installed in the <strong>Brocade</strong><strong>NetIron</strong> <strong>XMR</strong> 16000 router.Follow these steps to connect the AC power source.NOTEFor the NEBS-compliant installation, AC power connections must use a surge protection device(SPD) to protect AC power supplies from damage due to excessive power line surges.1. Locate the power receptacles in the power supplies on the back panel.2. Lift the cord retainer <strong>and</strong> connect an AC power cord to each power supply.3.
