.In view <strong>of</strong> the fact.that the aid to ex-service men is rapidly<br />

increasing, and <strong>of</strong> the necessity <strong>of</strong> giving more attention to their needs, and<br />

welfare, I hereby recommend the establishment <strong>of</strong> the position <strong>of</strong> Soldier's<br />

Relief Commissioner, on a full time basis, whose duty shall be to administer<br />

soldier ! s relief, investigate claims for aid, take care <strong>of</strong> compensation, insurance,<br />

hospitalization, and all other matters affecting ex-service men.<br />

This is in line with action taken by other Municipalities in the Commonwealth<br />

The sum <strong>of</strong> $2500. has been appropriated in the budget as a<br />

salary for the aforesaid Commissioner.<br />
