inhabitants <strong>of</strong> the city, and whereas, legal notices <strong>of</strong> change in ordinances,<br />

hearings on -petitions to be held before the Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen, etc. are <strong>of</strong><br />

such importance that every means should be taken to inform the public.<br />

It is- hereby ordered that section 4 <strong>of</strong> chapter 42 <strong>of</strong> the Revised<br />

Ordinances <strong>of</strong> 1929, which reads,- "In such case where it is provided<br />

by law or by ordinance that notice <strong>of</strong> such hearing shall be given by publication,<br />

such notice shall be published in the weekly newspaper having the<br />

largest circulation <strong>of</strong> such newspapers published in that part''<strong>of</strong> the city<br />

in which the premises stated in the petition are located. 'For the purpose<br />

<strong>of</strong> this chapter the city is divided into two parts by the middle line <strong>of</strong><br />

Cedar street and Cedar street e xtended." be amended to_r_e_acL_a_s_f.o.ll.o.w.3.:-<br />

Section 4. In such case where.it is provided by lav/ or by ordinance that notice<br />

papers published in the city, if any, and in the daily newspaper having the<br />

largest circulation <strong>of</strong> such newspapers published in the city, if any,<br />

sign over the sidewalk ,at 90 Broadway, said sign having been taken down;<br />

License granted to Hyman Hootstein for a sign at 90 Broadway<br />

Is hereby revoked.<br />

The city clerk is hereby authorized to notify said bonding<br />

company <strong>of</strong> this release.<br />
