quested to ask Constable Edmon V/illiama to appear before the committee to
show cause why his authority to act as constable of the city of Somerville
should not be revoked.

Alderman Knox offered the following order,

His honor the Mayor is hereby requested^jto con-
sider the advisability of declaring a municipal holiday on Tuesday, October
7. 1930, which is the day of the American Legion parade.
Question came on the adoption of the order. Aid. Gobron made
an amendment "that the Mayor request the business men of Somerville to ob-
serve the day as a holiday". Alderman Knox offered an amendment "that em-
ployees of the city of Somerville be given a holiday without loss of pay".
Alderman Gobron allowed Alderman Knox's amendment to become a part of his
and this amendment was adopted.
The order was then adopted with the amendment.
