Alderman Sherman offered the following orders,
Ordered:
That a special committee consisting of seven
members of this "board be appointed by the f resident to co-operate with the
National Hellenic Society and others in the observance of the dedicatory
exercises and celebration in honor of George Dilboy to be held on August 26,
1930.

Ordered:
His honor the Mayor is hereby requested to
direct the police Department to prohibit the parking of automobiles on
Alewlfe Brook Parkway from Broadway to pumping station and no other streets
during "boxing "bouts and other events
and .further to request the Chief of Police to communicate with the 1Vi etro-
po'litan Police with a view to eliminating such parking on Alewife Brook
parkway during such events.
Question came on the adoption of the order. Vote was by roll
call, 13 Aldermen voting in the negative, 5 Aldermen voting in the affirmati e
2 Aldermen being absent, the President not voting and the order. was not
adopted.
Aid. Sherman made a motion that action be reconsidered, which
was done by a vote of 14 to 5. After being reconsidered Aid. Sherman made a

motion that order be amended to read "on Alewife Brook Parkway from Broadway
to Pumping station, and no other streets." with this amendment the cr der was
adopted.

The President is hereby requested to appoint
a committe'e of seven members of this Board t.o cooperate with the American
\Legion in the celebration connected with the -^eglon Convention.

Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the city of Somerville,
as follows:
Section eight of Chapter twenty-nine of the Revised Ordinances
of 1929 is hereby amended by striking out in the sixth line the words "twenty-five
per cent in excess of", so as to read as follows:
The license issued, for a motor vehicle shall designate the
number of passengers, exclusive of the operator, the licensee is authorized
to carry in said vehicle, and no person operating said vehicle shall cause
or allow more persons to be carried thereon at any time than the number desig
