ters lost by roll call vote, 10 to 5. Alderman 'Sherman invoked section 15 and<br />

further action.delayed for this meeting.<br />

Ordered:<br />

That the Indemnity Insurance Company <strong>of</strong> North<br />

America be released from future liability as surety on the bond <strong>of</strong> Wilmot J.<br />

Wade for two awnings over the sidewalk at cor. Washington & Shawmut streets,<br />

as a new bond has been filed with The Century Indemnity Company.<br />

• License granted to Wilmot J. Wade for two awnings at corner<br />

Washington & Shawmut streets is hereby revoked.<br />

That whereas under the will <strong>of</strong> Thomas J. Buffum<br />

late <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong>, who died October 25, 1929, a bequest was made in the fol-<br />

lowing form:<br />

"5. To the city <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong>, the sum <strong>of</strong> two<br />

thousand dollars to be expended by the Trus- .<br />

tees <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Somerville</strong> .-Public Library for<br />

such purposes as they may determine for the<br />

benefit <strong>of</strong> the library/'<br />

Now, therefore, this gift is hereby.gratefully accepted to be<br />

placed in charge <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> Treasurer with-authority to receive the same<br />

and to invest and reinvest the same in such manner as the savings banks <strong>of</strong><br />

Massachusetts may be, from time to time, authorized to make investments; and<br />

that the administration <strong>of</strong> said fund be placed in charge <strong>of</strong> the board <strong>of</strong><br />

trustees <strong>of</strong> the Public Library for such purposes as they may determine for<br />

the benefit <strong>of</strong> the library.<br />
