to permit Savings Banks to Establish Life Insurance Departments"<br />

Lindsay H. Ayer <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong> and six other persons not resi-<br />

dents <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong> under the name <strong>of</strong> United States Junior Cavalry <strong>of</strong> Amer-<br />

ica Inc. for the purpose <strong>of</strong> the following: To teach the boys to become good<br />

and able citizens <strong>of</strong> the United States <strong>of</strong> America, and self-reliance through<br />

the medium <strong>of</strong> Mounted Military Training with cavalry equipment, signaling,<br />

scouting, etc. The study <strong>of</strong> airships, junior civil and constructive engi-<br />

neering, radio telegraphy and telephoning, first aid and health sanitation<br />

wood craft and general athletics. To lease, buy sell, use and hold all such<br />

property, real, or personal, as may be necessary or convenient in connection<br />

with said corporation. To do any and all things set forth in this certifi-<br />

cate as objects, purposes, powers or otherwise, to the extent and as fully<br />

as natural persons might do, and in any part <strong>of</strong> United States <strong>of</strong> America.<br />

To do any and all other acts and things and to exercise any and all other<br />

powers which now or herafter may be authorized under chapter 180 <strong>of</strong> General<br />

Walker, Sadie Federman, Samuel D. Leavitt, Ralph M. Smith <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong> and<br />

twenty-eight other persons not residents <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong>' under the name <strong>of</strong><br />

Davis Square Board <strong>of</strong> Trade for the purpose <strong>of</strong> the following: To establish<br />

and constitute a Board <strong>of</strong> Trade in that portion <strong>of</strong> the city <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong><br />

in said Commonwealth commonly known and designated as the Davis Square sec-<br />

tion, comprising Davis square and such other portions <strong>of</strong> the said city as<br />

are contiguous thereto, in the vicinity there<strong>of</strong>, or which are mainly tri-<br />

butary thereto in reference to its location as a business or trading center<br />

and to maintain the corporation by assessment upon its members. Also to have<br />

the further object and power to receive and accept from its own members and<br />

all other persons, subscriptions, donations, gifts and other aid for the<br />

above uses and purposes and for the purpose <strong>of</strong> charitable, civic, and educa-<br />

tional uses and projects, and particularly in the event <strong>of</strong> public disaster,<br />

distress, misfortune, or calamity, either local, state-wide, national or for-<br />

eign, and to give, apply, distribute or contribute the same to the purpose<br />

intended directly <strong>of</strong> itself or in association with or through other persons,<br />

associations, organizations, or governmental agencies. And to acquire by pur-<br />

chase, gift, donation, lease or otherwise, both real and personal property<br />

to an amount not exceeding $500,000., to hold the same, to borrow money, and<br />
