It is hereby adjudged and determined that the<br />

public ways except Mystic avenue from Connecticut avenue to the Medford line<br />

and Walnut street from Highland avenue to Pearl street, shall be sprinkled<br />

in the present municipal year, in whole at the expense <strong>of</strong> the abutters<br />

thereon.<br />

Alderman Pearson <strong>of</strong>fered the following order,<br />

Ordered:<br />

Whereas by an order <strong>of</strong> this Board approved by<br />

the Mayor prior to the <strong>of</strong>fering <strong>of</strong> this order, It was adjudged and determined<br />

that certain public ways, all as specified in said order, should be<br />

sprinkled in the present municipal year at the expense in whole <strong>of</strong> the abutters<br />

thereon.<br />

Now, therefore, it is hereby ADJUDGED, ESTIMATED AND DETER-<br />

MINED as follows, namely:<br />

The expense <strong>of</strong> the sprinkling <strong>of</strong> said ways, as in said order<br />

specified for the present municipal year is estimated and determined to be<br />

the sum <strong>of</strong> forty-eight thousand three hundred dollars; the proportion <strong>of</strong><br />

such expense to be borne by the abutters upon such ways is estimated and determined<br />

to be the whole <strong>of</strong> said expense; the rate to .be assessed upon each<br />

linear foot <strong>of</strong> frontage <strong>of</strong> estates upon such ways Is estimated and determined<br />

to be six cents.<br />

The expense determined as aforesaid <strong>of</strong> such sprinkling to be<br />

borne by the abutters shall be and is hereby assessed in the manner hereinafter<br />

provided upon the estates abutting on said ways in proportion to the<br />

number <strong>of</strong> linear feet <strong>of</strong> each estate upon said ways so sprinkled.<br />

The amount <strong>of</strong> such assessment upon each such estate shall be<br />

determined in accordance with the foregoing provisions., and according to the<br />

law in. such cases made and provided by Maurice F. Ahearn, he being the chair-<br />

man <strong>of</strong> the board <strong>of</strong> assessors, and he is hereby designated as the <strong>of</strong>ficer to<br />

determine the amount aforesaid. He shall make a list <strong>of</strong> said ways which the<br />

city has determined shall be sprinkled as aforesaid, which list shall specify<br />

each estate abutting upon each such way, the number <strong>of</strong> linear feet <strong>of</strong> eact<br />

such estate upon each such way, the amount per such linear foot <strong>of</strong> the asses;<br />

ment authorized, and the amount <strong>of</strong> such assessment on each such estate, and<br />

certify and commit such list to the board <strong>of</strong> assessors.<br />

I, Maurice F. Ahearn, do solemnly swear that I w ill faithfully<br />

perform the duties incumbent on me under the foregoing order. So help<br />

The Committee on Legislative Matters is here-<br />

by requested to consider the advisability <strong>of</strong> transferring to the Licensing<br />

Commission the granting <strong>of</strong> common victuallers licenses.<br />
