The Committee on Public Works is hereby re-
quested to consider the advisability of constructing granolithic sidewalks on
Malvern avenue where not already laid.

Whereas, It has been brought to the attention of this •
Board that the Boston Elevated Railway Company intends 'to curtail the service
on the Clarendon Hill, Lechmere square line by cutting out approximately
fifteen trips j?er day,, said curtailment to take effect on Monday, March
31, 1950, and
Whereas, in the opinion of this Board the present car
service from Clarendon "Hill to J-«echmere square and from Lechmere square to •
Clarendon Hill is entirely inadequate and insufficient to properly take care
of the traffic on said line, and.
"Whereas, it is the opinion of this Board that the car
service on- said route should be increased rather than curtailed, be it hereby

Tha t this Board of Aldermen here"by._mo_3t_s_tre.nuou3 ly
protests any curtailment of said service as aforesaid and requests the Boston
Elevated Railway Company not to curtail the number of daily trips on
said line, as said curtailment would result in great inconvenience, and be
a great injustice to the car riders of the city of Somerville, and be it

City Clerk to the Boston Elevated Railway Company.
