His honor the Mayor is hereby authorized to make a set-<br />

tlement <strong>of</strong> the claim <strong>of</strong> William J. Hand arising out <strong>of</strong> injuries received<br />

February 13, 1930 by reason <strong>of</strong> an alleged defect on Washington street, for<br />

the sum <strong>of</strong> seven hundred (700) dollars, the expense so incurred to be charged<br />

to Damage to Persons and Personal Property account.<br />

Read twice and adopted.<br />

Ordered:<br />

The sum <strong>of</strong> three hundred twenty-five (525) dol-<br />

lars is hereby transferred from Recreation Commission to School Contingent<br />

account to provide for the expense <strong>of</strong> instruction in canning and preserving.<br />

Garfield avenue extending from a point 150 feet southerly from Edmonton ave-<br />

nue, to Mystic avenue, the expense so incurred to be charged to Sewers Con-<br />

struction account.<br />

, ; That the action <strong>of</strong> the Board at its last regu-<br />

lar meeting, v/hereby it transferred the sum <strong>of</strong> &10.0QQ from Excess and De-<br />

ficiency account to the Celebration account, was an error. in that the said<br />

sum <strong>of</strong> $10,000 should have, been transferred to Tercentenary account.<br />

It is hereby ordered that the said sum <strong>of</strong> $10,000 be now trans<br />

ferred to Tercentenary account.<br />
