On motion <strong>of</strong> Alderman- Sherman, seconded by Alderman 'Knox the<br />

rules were suspended and the following orders were <strong>of</strong>fered.<br />

His honor the mayor is hereby authorized to<br />

make a settlement <strong>of</strong> the claim <strong>of</strong> Margherita Mirabello, minor, by John Mira-<br />

bello, as father and next friend, arising out <strong>of</strong> injuries received July 25,<br />

1929, by reason <strong>of</strong> an alleged defect on Broadway, for the sum <strong>of</strong> three hun-<br />

dred (300) dollars, the expense so incurred to be charged to Damage to Per-<br />

sons and Personal Property Account.<br />

Read twice and adopted.<br />

Presented to the mayor May 9, 1930. Order not having been<br />

returned vjithin the prescribed terv da-ya, same ts effective.<br />

The vice president <strong>of</strong>fered the following orders,.<br />

Ordered:<br />

His honor the mayor and chief <strong>of</strong> police is here<br />

by requested to consider the advisability <strong>of</strong> affording additional police pro-<br />

tection in the East <strong>Somerville</strong> district on account <strong>of</strong> the numerous breaks<br />

and hold ups which have occurred within the last two months;<br />

That the Committee on Public Works consider the<br />

advisability <strong>of</strong> installing a separate sewer system on Franklin avenue.<br />

The sum <strong>of</strong> eleven hundred ninety four and 6/100<br />

(1194.06) dollars is hereby transferred from Municipal Employment Service'to<br />

Exeoutive Department account.<br />
